Dear Road Church Friends,

The message this Sunday will be presented by Barbara.  Once again she is pinch hitting for me as I have struggled this past week with sinusitis.  Her sermon will be on a topic that plagues us all - the insidious effect of fear and anxiety in our lives.

HYMN: “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” #419

SCRIPTURE:

PSALM 116:7

Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

MATTHEW 6:27-31

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to your life. And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

SERMON: “Fearless”

OUT IN THE FIELDS WITH GOD

The little cares that fretted me I lost them yesterday,

Among the fields above the sea, Amon the winds at play,

Among the lowing of the herds, the rustling of the trees,

Among the singing of the birds, the humming of the bees.

The foolish fears of what might happen, I cast them all away,

Among the clover scented grass, among the new mown hay,

Among the husking of the corn, where drowsy poppies nod,

Where I’ll thoughts die and good are born, out in the fields of God!

By Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Blessings to you all,

Pastor Norm
