 Dear Road Church Friends,

Health, Peace and the Love of God be with you all.

Tomorrow’s message is about being good soldiers in service to Jesus. It is a follow up to last week’s lesson on how Jesus’ act of self-emptying on the cross defines what it means to be a Christian. As Jesus has served us so we are to serve others. (Philippians 2:14-15) Paul compared our service to Christ to military service. “Share in suffering like a good soldier. No one serving in the army gets entangled in civilian affairs. The soldiers’ aim is to please the enlisting officer.” 2 Timothy 2:3-4.  There are lessons to be learned from those whom we honor as military heroes. Jesus as our commanding officer expects as much single-minded devotion from us as military officers expect of the soldiers who serve under them. As soldiers of Christ we must be “all in” and I will give examples of what that means.

Blessings to all,
